What you should know
Competition laws were enacted to stop the harm monopolies cause to people and our democracy. However, those laws have been weakened over time by the courts and lax enforcement. To foster more robust competition, the U.S. must scrutinize mergers that create corporate monopolies and prevent companies from becoming so big that they stifle innovation.
What you can do
To prevent companies from monopolizing the market, we work to strengthen competition laws and rules and ensure they are rigorously enforced.
