Global Access to Medicines

Patents that blocked access to affordable generic drugs during the early years of HIV/AIDS and the world’s failure to quickly scale COVID-19 vaccines and treatments at the height of the pandemic cost millions of lives and trillions in economic damage. Campaigning for access to medicines has saved the lives of millions more and prevented further economic losses. Today we work with partners worldwide to expand access to vaccines and treatments, and to prepare the world to better fight the next pandemic.

With analysis, technical assistance and strategic advocacy, we support the priorities of civil society groups and public agencies that seek to expand access to medicines.
