Fighting Big Tech Abuses

Big Tech interests have been working to hijack trade negotiating venues, seeking to lock in binding international rules that limit governments from regulating online platforms in the public interest, from fighting corporate concentration, and from curbing monopoly power.

Following the tech billionaire-studded 2025 Presidential Inauguration, the Trump administration has been carrying water for Big Tech by weaponizing tariff negotiations, attempting to strongarm countries away from fair regulations and taxes on American technology companies.

The anti-worker, anti-consumer, and anti-civil rights “digital trade” proposals being pushed by Big Tech through Donald Trump would undermine domestic policy space on important issues like gig economy worker protections, discrimination and algorithm transparency, competition policy and anti-trust, corporate liability, and privacy.
