America Deserves Speedy Confirmation of CFPB Chief

Americans deserve the speedy confirmation of Richard Cordray to head the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
Cordray brings invaluable experience as Ohio attorney general, state treasurer and business attorney to this important post.
The 44 senators who threaten to roadblock any nominee unless this agency’s policing authority is eviscerated insult the millions of Americans thrown out of their jobs and homes because of the abusive banking practices that a strong CFPB will combat. The agency’s opponents also defy American public opinion, where polls show wide support for a strong CFPB.
