Victory: Budget Resolution’s Passage Paves the Way for $1.9 Trillion in COVID Relief
WASHINGTON, D.C. – After the U.S. House today passed budget resolution including reconciliation instructions, Lisa Gilbert, executive vice president of Public Citizen, released the following statement:
“This is a critical victory for everyday Americans. Both the House and Senate passing the budget resolution paves the way for a landmark $1.9 trillion COVID relief package that Americans desperately need. And there isn’t a moment to waste. Congress must move quickly to craft the details and pass the relief package before unemployment benefits start expiring in mid-March.”
