If elections could be bought, who would own this country?
This week at Public Citizen, we’re standing up for fair elections. The amount of money being spent in the presidential campaigns has become obscene. It’s time that we brought full public financing to elections to even the playing field and lessen the influence of wealthy special interests. There’s one funny scene in it where two guys on the golf course complain that some college student’s vote counts the same as their’s and, yet, the student hasn’t given one dollar to the campaign.
