With Boyle Confirmed, Consumer Product Safety Commission Can Now Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Senate today voted 50 to 48 to confirm Mary T. Boyle as a commissioner on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), providing a 3-2 majority for Democratic commissioners. Susan Harley, managing director of Public Citizen’s Congress Watch division, released the following statement:

“Given her extensive experience at the agency, Boyle’s confirmation to serve as a CPSC commissioner is welcome news. With a full roster, the agency is now positioned to act on critical product safety reforms and enforcement actions.”
