Swimming against the current with Jim Hightower

swimagainst_front.jpgIf you’re in the D.C. area, you’ve got two chances on Friday to catch populist radio commentator and author Jim Hightower, who is in town as part of his book tour for his latest work, “Swimming Against the Current: Even a Dead Fish Can Go With the Flow.” If you’re not familiar with Jim, you can check out his columns and radio commentary at his Web site. Hightower, who uses his homespun humor to rail against corporate and government failings, is also a member of Public Citizen Foundation’s board of directors.

From noon to 1:30 p.m., he’ll be speaking at an event sponsored by Campus Progress and the Center for American Progress, 10th floor 1333 H Street Washington, D.C. To RSVP to this event, contact the Center for American Progress.

And then from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., he’ll be at Politics and Prose bookstore and coffee shop, 5015 Connecticut Avenue N.W., Washington, D.C.
