Med journal weighs in on drug linked to thousands of deaths
Seems like 60 Minutes’ report on the deaths linked to the drug Trasylol, which I blogged about earlier, made the air just days before the New England Journal of Medicine published its own look at the Bayer product. Associated Press reporter Mike Stobbe writes about the studies in his story, “More ammo against withdrawn surgery drug.” Stobbe quotes Dr. Sidney Wolfe, director of Public Citizen’s Health Research Group, who says the federal government has grounds to pursue criminal charges against Bayer for withholding a critical study from the Food and Drug Administration.
