Okay, I like to make fun of people wearing Crocs but, hey, I don’t wish them any harm. So, if you’re a Crocs wearer, you might want to check out this item posted on the Consumer Reports blog about people wearing Crocs and other similar “soft” footwear getting caught in escalators. According to Consumer Reports, “The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that 77 escalator entrapment incidents have been reported since January 2006, half of which resulted in injury.” The Consumerist has also reported about the hazards of wearing Crocs (besides being the object of scorn and humiliation).
