Take Action: LGBTQ+ Rights in Kenya
LGBTQI+ rights in Kenya are under serious threat. A simple action by the Biden Administration could help protect them.
Right now, Kenyan members of parliament are debating a “Family Protection Bill” that calls for harsh criminal penalties for anyone identifying as LGBTQI+, or anyone who promotes or protects LGBTQI+ human rights.
Despite this, the United States continues to pursue a special trade agreement with Kenya, the Strategic Trade and Investment Partnership (STIP).
Urge the Biden Administration to stop U.S.-Kenya trade negotiations until President Ruto commits to vetoing legislation that criminalizes the LGBTQI+ community.
