He works to make the grid serve the people of Texas by focusing on addressing climate change at local governments and utilities. Kamil researches and advocates for adopting clean energy solutions to transition away from fossil fuels and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Before joining Public Citizen, he interned with Resources for the Future and Texas Organizing Project and conducted independent research on water in Amman, Jordan.
