Aileen Walsh
Executive Assistant
Aileen Walsh is the executive assistant to Robert Weissman and Lisa Gilbert, co-presidents of Public Citizen. She is also a Development Officer, assisting the Development Office with major donor fundraising events and organization-wide events. Aileen is the Assistant-Secretary for the Public Citizen, Inc. and Public Citizen Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors.
Aileen joined Public Citizen in 1993 after having worked for many years for the President of a high tech manufacturing company in Rockville, MD that also had an office in Tokyo, Japan and numerous representatives all over the world.
Before returning to the work force, Aileen was a stay at home mom, raising two wonderful daughters and putting them through undergrad and graduate school. Aileen is extremely proud of her daughters and their accomplishments.
Aileen grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and Erie, PA, and in the mid-50s her family moved to Maryland where Aileen attended private schools and later enrolled in computer classes at Montgomery College in Rockville, MD.
Aileen’s passion is gardening, which she learned from her Mom at an early age. Her Mom was a Master Gardener. Her other hobbies are antiquing, reading, cooking, hanging out with her friends and family, and volunteering at her Dad’s nursing home where he lived for 3 ½ years.
