Protecting the public’s right to know
The public has a right to know about the government’s operations. The landmark Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) enables Americans to learn about government activities and hold it accountable for its actions. But the government doesn't always implement the law correctly, so we must defend FOIA in the courts while working with Congress to expand and improve the law.
Our Work
We defend the Freedom of Information Act in the courts and fight in the halls of Congress to close loopholes in the law and expand access to government information.
