General Motors Agrees to Place Electric Battery Manufacturing Under UAW’s National Master Agreement
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In an agreement announced today on UAW’s social media feed, General Motors today agreed to place their electric battery manufacturing under the UAW‘s National Master Agreement. In response, Erika Thi Patterson, auto supply chain campaign director for Public Citizen’s Climate Program, issued the following statement:
“This agreement is huge, and it shows the Big Three’s divisive tactics are failing. The UAW and greens are right to lock arms and continue to fight together. We can keep a livable planet with a swift transition to EVs while making sure workers get a fair share of the gains. That’s the path forward—and the sooner all automakers embrace it, the better for everyone.”
