Supreme Court Blocks Trump’s Attempt to Use Mail-In-Voting Rules to Upend November Election
WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court this evening blocked President Trump’s attempts to alter the process for mail-in-voting, allowing a preliminary injunction to remain in place through the November election. In response, Lisa Gilbert, co-president of Public Citizen, issued the following statement:
“The Supreme Court rejected the Trump administration’s attempt to impose chaotic, last-minute mail-in ballot delivery rules, ahead of the election this November. This regulation would have made it harder for millions of Americans to cast their ballots by mail.
“The decision tonight is a win for democracy. The court’s decision will protect millions of voters from being disenfranchised by the Trump administration’s attempt to use the mail system to upend this election.”
