This article offers a good analysis of the bureaucracies involved with managing the legal issues BP is facing. Between the Texas City accident in 2005 and the Deep Water Horizon rig in the Gulf of Mexico, BP has managed to effectively slide between the legal cracks and avoid paying for, or changing their policies surrounding worker protections. With new legislation in the House, it is important to continue placing pressure on all parties involved. The lives of our citizens cannot be placed in jeopardy while corporations continue to profit with their reckless practices.
