Press Conference: New Poll Will Detail How Americans View U.S. Leadership in Global Vaccination Efforts
Rep. Krishnamoorthi To Speak on Ongoing Legislative Efforts to Expand Vaccine Production
WHAT: On Thursday, the results of a new poll of likely 2022 voters will be released by Public Citizen and Lake Research Partners during a virtual press conference, indicating how strongly Americans support U.S. involvement in worldwide COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
The poll results will show how many Americans:
- Favor the U.S. government investing capital in a worldwide vaccine manufacturing program, including by partisan breakdown;
- Believe it is important that all countries have access to vaccines to vaccinate their populations quickly; and
- Say the U.S. should play a lead role in the global distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.
The speakers will detail the poll’s findings and what they mean for global vaccination efforts, followed by a Q&A session.
U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.), who has introduced that NOVID Act that would provide a $34 billion investment to make eight billion COVID-19 vaccine doses in one year, will also speak on ongoing legislative efforts to increase vaccine manufacturing.
