No Kings: Vote Early Crosses 2,000 Events During National Voter Education Week
WASHINGTON, D.C. — As National Voter Education Week is underway, thousands of Americans are planning over 2,000 No Kings: Vote Early events across all 50 states and Washington, DC, and getting plugged into local election protection networks in their communities. The goals for No Kings: Vote Early are clear: make sure eligible voters are ready to cast their ballots on their own terms, before Election Day, wherever possible, while also connecting voters with election protection resources and opportunities.
National Voter Education Week (October 5-9) is a prime opportunity for voters all over the country to equip themselves with the information necessary to navigate this election with confidence. This week is about making sure voters find their polling locations, understand their ballots, make specific plans to vote, and help their loved ones and communities do the same long before Election Day on November 3.
Early voting sites are frequently different from traditional Election Day polling locations and each state sets its own calendar for when early voting begins and ends. While not all states have in-person early voting or mail-in options, everyone can take the time to make their voting plans and plug into an October 17 No Kings: Vote Early event near them.
Groups organizing the No Kings events across the country include the ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Black Voters Matter Fund, 50501, Indivisible, League of Women Voters, MoveOn, Public Citizen, State Voices, and Voto Latino, among others. No Kings events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters. A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action and no civil disobedience. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
