Controversial Trump Special Government Employee Calley Means Resigns from HHS Kennedy Advisor Role as His Term Expires
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Last night, controversial Robert F. Kennedy advisor Calley Means confirmed that he has finally left his government role as a White House “Special Government Employee” after his 130-day term expired. Public Citizen’s report “Isn’t That Special?” had identified Means as one of a dozen people in addition to Elon Musk who were placed in high-level roles despite potentially significant conflict of interests and financial ethical conflicts.
Public Citizen Democracy Advocate Jon Golinger issued the following statement:
“The Trump Administration has wildly abused the Special Government Employee designation to shoehorn powerful people into official jobs in a way that allowed them to evade financial transparency and anti-corruption restraints,” said Golinger. “The clock ran out on Mr. Means, and we’re glad he finally resigned. Now it’s time for other Special Government Employees such as Corey Lewandowski at DHS and AI/Crypto Advisor David Sacks, who have overstayed their time, to follow Mr. Means out the door.”
