Impact Natural Gas Exports Have on Destabilizing the New England Energy Market

Today in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Docket AD22-9, we ask ISO-NE and other stakeholders to ask the U.S. Department of Energy to declare that exports of natural gas are inconsistent with the public interest, and ensure that New England’s needs are prioritized over exports; and request Commission action under 15 USC § 717t–2(a)(4) to establish an RTO for spot natural gas trading in New England in order to improve market transparency.
