RE: Missing LDA Registration and Disclosures for Scott Presler
Dear House Clerk and Senate Secretary:
Judging from numerous queries from congressional staff, news accounts and public posts, activist Scott Presler, currently associated with the Early Vote Action Super PAC (FEC account No. C00829721), appears to have been conducting lobbying activity and making numerous lobbying contacts on Capitol Hill in an effort to promote passage of the SAVE America Act (S3752 and HR7296).
Mr. Presler seems to have had quite a presence on Capitol Hill lobbying for passage of the SAVE America Act. This is what Mr. Presler wrote about his own lobbying activities for passage of the SAVE America Act on the X platform:
If any House members of Congress are willing to vote NO on any legislation coming out of the Senate — until the SAVE America Act is passed — I would love to meet with you while I’m on Capitol Hill all next week. CC: House Freedom Caucus
VICTORY! Senate Majority Leader Thune says he will bring the SAVE America Act to the Senate floor for a vote next week. Please continue to call your Senators in support of this country-saving bill. See you in Rapid City & Sioux Falls — peacefully!
However, when I attempt to research how much Scott Presler has raised or spent on his lobbying activities, either personally or through his associated super PAC, no registration or disclosure reports have been filed under the Lobbying Disclosure Act. I have sent requests to both Mr. Presler and the Early Vote Action PAC asking why there are no LDA registrations or disclosures but have yet to receive a reply.
This is fast-moving legislation and the public has the right to know who is funding the efforts for its passage or defeat under the law.
Public Citizen requests that the Clerk of the House and the Secretary of the Senate investigate whether Scott Presler has indeed crossed the threshold for LDA registration and, if so, ensure that Presler immediately resolve the matter with proper registration and disclosures.
Sincerely,
Craig Holman, Ph.D.
