The development disparities among countries aren’t being addressed by organizations such as the WTO, and developing countries continue to be under pressure to enter trade negotiations on data issues from both the corporations and leading economies. The unknowns that accompany the impending technological advances justify resisting these pressures until there’s enough clarity around what these deals would mean.
