Civil Society Letter to President Trump Calling for Reasonable Pricing and Access to Coronavirus Vaccines and Treatments
On March 5, Public Citizen and 70 civil society organizations wrote President Trump, asking him to ensure that vaccines or treatments for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) developed with U.S. taxpayer dollars are reasonably priced and available to everyone.
Specifically, Public Citizen and the other signatories call on the Trump Administration to require open, non-exclusive licenses and, at a minimum, to require reasonable pricing globally through clear and well-defined conditions in all coronavirus government grants, contracts and licensing arrangements.
