Senate Confirms Jaime Lizárraga to Join SEC
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Senate voted by voice on Thursday to confirm Jaime Lizárraga as a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) commissioner. Rachel Curley, democracy advocate for Public Citizen, issued the following statement:
“Lizárraga will be a champion for investors as the SEC works through its ambitious agenda, addressing issues around ESG disclosure — including political activity, executive compensation, misleading mutual fund names, and more. As the SEC turns its attention to the public comments on its Climate Disclosure Rule, Lizárraga will seek to protect investors and markets from this dangerous source of risk.
