SAVE Act Activist Scott Presler Appears to Lack Proper Lobbying Credentials, New Complaint Alleges

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Public Citizen today filed a complaint with the Clerk of the House and the Secretary of the Senate requesting an investigation into the lobbying credentials of Scott Presler, currently associated with the Early Vote Action Super PAC. According to multiple sources, Presler appears to have been conducting lobbying activity on Capitol Hill in support of the anti-voter SAVE America Act.

No registration or disclosure reports have been filed under the Lobbying Disclosure Act from Presler individually or through his associated super PAC. Public Citizen has sent requests to Presler and the Early Vote Action PAC asking why there are no LDA registrations or disclosures but have yet to receive a reply.

“The law clearly states that the American public has the right to know who is funding efforts to pass or defeat federal legislation,” said Craig Holman, a government ethics expert with Public Citizen who submitted the complaint. “That Mr. Presler is advocating for the passage of the SAVE America Act, which would disenfranchise millions of eligible voters, adds a layer of cruel irony to his potential decision to flout the rules of our democracy. The relevant House and Senate authorities must investigate — and, if needed, rectify — the situation immediately.”
