MEDIA ALERT: Regulations Protect Our Economy, Working Families
Public Citizen President Robert Weissman to Testify at House Judiciary Subcommittee Hearing on the Impacts of Regulation
WHAT: In what is expected to be a highly contentious debate, the U.S. House Judiciary’s Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law will hold a hearing on Wednesday about the relationship between regulations and jobs, wages and start-ups. Weissman will offer concrete examples of regulatory safeguards that have benefited our economy, protected working families, increased wages and helped spur new industries that created high-paying jobs – as well as rules still under development that would do the same. Weissman also will rebut some of the more outlandish and inflammatory claims made by opponents of public protections.
