New FOIA Request Demands Information on Hegseth and Kid Rock’s Helicopter Joyride
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Public Citizen launched a new investigation, submitting FOIA requests to the U.S. Army, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Federal Aviation Administration, and the FAA Air Traffic Organization for information pertaining to an incident yesterday in which Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Kid Rock flew military helicopters together.
“Pete Hegseth appears to be blowing taxpayer dollars on joyrides with his favorite sycophantic musician while Trump’s war on Iran continues to wreak death, destruction, and financial instability across the globe,” said Lisa Gilbert, co-president of Public Citizen. “Americans deserve to know how this happened, who approved it, and why.”
The full FOIA requests can be found here (Army), here (OSD), here (FAA), and here (Air Traffic).
Public Citizen has submitted dozens of FOIA requests to the Trump administration over the past year, and most recently successfully sued to obtain Trump’s White House ballroom contract.
