Public Citizen’s Stephanie Thomas to Speak Out at Shareholder Meeting in Midland, Texas
WHAT: A Public Citizen researcher and community organizer – who also is a former Chevron geologist – will attend Chevron’s shareholder meeting and call on the corporation to be more transparent about its planning for climate change.
Stephanie Thomas, who works for Public Citizen in Houston and is a Chevron shareholder, will call on the corporation to provide more detail to shareholders about the risks the company faces from climate change, outline its strategy for handling those risks and limiting emissions, end its association with industry trade groups that have spread misinformation regarding climate change and openly demonstrate support for reducing global greenhouse gas emissions.
