Biden promised to give labor and environmental groups a leading role in any renegotiation. But Lori Wallach, director of Public Citizen’s Global Trade Watch, questioned his ability to win in 2020. She said his “record of actively selling the signed TPP and actually voting for the U.S.-job-crushing China PNTR and NAFTA make him even more vulnerable than Hilary Clinton to the same Trump trade attacks that flipped Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania in 2016.”
