House Republican CR Is a Refusal to Negotiate
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. House today passed the GOP’s partisan stopgap funding bill. Lisa Gilbert, co-president of Public Citizen, released the following statement:
“The House Republican CR represents a refusal to negotiate, a refusal to come to the table, and a willingness to cut what Americans depend on most – our services, our health care, our education, and more. In addition, it shows their willingness to continue to bastardize the power of the purse. Any funding deal must contain assurances that it will be neither impounded nor rescinded, and must address American’s growing health care emergency. This bill misses the mark and is unacceptable.”
