Former U.S. Rep. David Bonior – Leader of Early Battle Against NAFTA – Presents New Book, ‘Whip’ at Public Citizen Event
Bonior Worked With Public Citizen to Oppose NAFTA; Presentation Is 4:30-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27
WHAT: Book presentation by former U.S. Rep. David Bonior (D-Mich.), who is releasing the second volume of his autobiography, “Whip: Leading the Progressive Battle During the Rise of the Right.” The book depicts his 26 years in Congress, during which he mobilized Democrats to fight on behalf of average Americans through five presidential administrations.
During his time in Congress, Bonior worked with Public Citizen to oppose the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). When he left office, he served on Public Citizen’s board for several years.
