Cicilline to Leave Substantial and Meaningful Legacy of Service
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative David Cicilline (D-R.I.) today announced he will leave Congress on June 1, 2023 to join the Rhode Island Foundation as its next president and chief executive officer. Lisa Gilbert, executive vice president of Public Citizen, issued the following statement:
“Representative Cicilline will leave behind a substantial and meaningful legacy in Congress—from reinvigorating antitrust policy, to helping to lead the charge for progressive regulatory policy reform, to spearheading landmark anti-discrimination legislation for the LGBTQ+ community. He will be sorely missed and, as he begins his new chapter, Public Citizen applauds him for his service.”
