Actress and Activist Shailene Woodley to Moderate Twitter Town Hall on Executive Order for Disclosure

President Barack Obama Should Issue the #NoSecretMoney Executive Order Before Leaving Office

WHAT: Twitter town hall to answer questions about the need for President Barack Obama to issue an executive order requiring federal government contractors to disclose their political spending. This town hall is part of an ongoing effort to encourage the president to address a corrupt pay-to-play environment in which government contractors can secretly funnel untold sums to help elect the very same lawmakers who are responsible for awarding government contracts. Experts will explain the importance of disclosure, directing their comments to Obama’s Twitter handle – @POTUS – and calling on him to address the dark money problem that he admits is plaguing American democracy.

Momentum is building for an executive order. Since April 2015, Public Citizen, as a part of a broad coalition of good government, labor, environmental and civil rights groups, has collected more than one million petition signatures and generated more than 10,000 phone calls to the White House calling on Obama to act.
