“A Circus”: House Republicans Censure Rep. Schiff
Washington, D.C. – House Republicans have voted to censure U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) for his role investigating former U.S. President Donald Trump. In response, Lisa Gilbert, executive vice president of Public Citizen, released the following statement:
“As Trump faces multiple probes and indictments at the federal and state levels, this censure of Rep. Schiff is a desperate move to distract from the facts laid out in the indictments against the former president. Their message is clear: they don’t care about accountability, they don’t care about the Constitution, and they stand with Trump, no matter the cost.
“We knew House Republicans would put on a partisan show of ‘investigating the investigators’. In the face of multiple state and federal charges against Trump, this show is becoming a circus.”
