On July 15, 2025, Public Citizen submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) seeking copies of communications between USTR and various technology companies and industry groups. In February 2026, after USTR failed to produce any requested records, Public Citizen filed suit.
