Public Citizen v. National Park Service

On December 2, 2025, Public Citizen submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to the National Park Service. The request sought (1) copies of communications between Yosemite National Park Superintendent Raymond McPadden and members of the Office of the Secretary of the Department of the Interior, and (2) copies of calendar entries and correspondence relating to Mr. McPadden’s schedule. NPS originally said that it would send a response by January 15, but, in October 2026, Public Citizen was still waiting for a response. Accordingly, Public Citizen filed a lawsuit to compel disclosure of the requested records.
