M.C. v. Antelope Valley Union High School District
In this Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) case, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals held that a school district violated the procedural requirements of the Act by unilaterally revising a disabled student’s individualized educational program, failing to provide an accurate offer of the services and devices provided, and failing to respond to the parent’s due process complaint. After the defendant filed a petition for certiorari, Public Citizen joined counsel for the plaintiff to prepare the brief in opposition. On December 11, 2018, the Supreme Court denied the petition for certiorari.
