Gallucci v. New Jersey On-Line, LLC
After Gallucci, a member of the Teaneck town council, anonymously criticized William Brennan, who was suing the Teaneck over employment issues, Brennan obtained a subpoena to NJ.com, the host of the blog where Gallucci had commented. NJ.com complied with the subpoena withoug any njotice to Gallucci, and Gallucci sued the owner of NJ.com for the emotional distress and other damages caused by the release of his identifying email address. NJ.com committed to provide notice in the future, and the suit was eventually withdrawn.
