Azza AbuDagga, Ph.D

Health Services Researcher, Health Research Group

Azza AbuDagga is a health services researcher at Public Citizen’s Health Research Group (HRG). She is responsible for designing and conducting HRG’s data-based research projects related to health care access and quality, provider accountability and serious mental illness in jails. Prior to joining Public Citizen in 2013, Dr. AbuDagga held research associate/health outcomes research positions at WellPoint, Inc., LeadingAge, and IMPAQ International LLC, where she wrote research proposals and conducted health services research studies funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality, and the industry.

She is the lead author of several scientific reports and peer-reviewed articles and has presented her work at major research meetings including AcademyHealth, ISPOR, and CHEST. She serves as a journal reviewer for a number of peer reviewed journals. She holds a Ph.D. in health policy and administration from the Pennsylvania State University, an M.H.A. from the Ohio State University, and B.S. in nursing (with honors) from the Islamic University of Gaza.
