Abul-Qasim v. Medical Transportation Management

Co-counseling with the Washington Lawyers Committee and the law firm Cohen Milstein, we brought this case on behalf of 173 individual drivers who provided non-emergency medical transportation services pursuant to a contract between the District of Columbia and Medical Transportation Management (MTM). The complaint alleges that the drivers were paid less than the legally required wages and that MTM is a general contractor liable for any violations of D.C. wage laws committed by its subcontractors that directly employed the drivers.

MTM filed a motion to dismiss the complaint or, in the alternative, to sever each driver’s claims and to join as parties the companies that directly employed the drivers. On October 8, 2026, the Court denied MTM’s motion. MTM must now file a response to the complaint, and the parties will begin discovery.
