Zach Everson (he/him/his) is the research director for Public Citizen’s Trump Accountability Project, focusing on waste, fraud, abuse, corruption, and conflicts of interest involving President Donald Trump and his administration.

Before joining Public Citizen, Zach was a staff writer at Forbes investigating how Trump turns political power into personal profit and other stories at the intersection of money and politics — including Trump’s crypto ventures, campaign cash flowing to Trump businesses, and financial filings revealing conflicts of interest. Earlier, he spent years covering the now-shuttered Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C. for ProPublica, Vanity Fair, Politico, Mother Jones, NBC News, The Daily Beast, France’s Capital , and his own 1100 Pennsylvania newsletter.
