Carlota Copper Co. v. Friends of Pinto Creek

Co-counseling in the U.S. Supreme Court through our Supreme Court Assistance Project, we drafted the brief in opposition to a petition for certiorari that posed the question whether the issuance of a permit for an open-pit mine that would discharge copper into Pinto Creek—a river already severely impaired from excessive copper pollution—was inconsistent with an EPA regulation under the Clean Water Act. The Supreme Court denied the petition.
