Comments to the European Commission on Customs Regulation 1383/2003

Recent customs actions in the European Union have stopped lifesaving generic medicines in transit to developing countries. To help protect global access to safe and effective medicines, Public Citizen recommends limiting ex officio customs actions to cases of willful trademark counterfeiting on a commercial scale. Public Citizen's comments also propose more effective measures to protect consumers from falsified and other unsafe medicines.
