Congressional Democrats to Take Actions Around Trump’s Failure to Follow Precedent
Note: Donald Trump is the first president in more than 40 years to refuse to release his tax returns. Today, U.S. Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.) will ask the U.S. House of Representatives to take up the “Presidential Tax Transparency Act” (H.R. 305) in an effort to compel the release of Trump’s tax returns. Below are statements from two Public Citizen policy experts in support of the Eshoo measure.

Disclosure is imperative for the American public to determine whether Trump’s official actions are being made in the public’s interest or in Trump’s personal interest.”
