Update: Pressley to Speak at ‘Reject the Cover-Up’ Protest Tonight on Capitol Hill

Protestors to Hold Trump, Senate GOP Accountable for Sham Trial

WHAT: Protestors will gather on Capitol Hill as part of “Reject the Cover-Up” rallies being held nationwide on Wednesday evening. The rally is one of more than 300 events being held in 46 states and Washington D.C. The actions are timed to coincide with the U.S. Senate’s expected acquittal of President Donald Trump after GOP lawmakers blocked key witnesses and evidence from his impeachment trial.

The event is part of a nationwide effort to hold Trump and Republican lawmakers accountable for betraying the American people and the Constitution. Protestors will send a clear message: Any acquittal made after blocking key evidence is not an exoneration – it’s a cover-up.

More than 160 events are being planned from coast to coast by a large coalition of groups, including Public Citizen, Common Cause, Indivisible, Greenpeace, NextGen America, Sierra Club, Stand Up America, Women’s March and others.

Members of the public can RSVP here for the D.C. event. A full list of events happening across the country can be found here.
