Public Citizen Statement on Senator Manchin’s S.1 Letter
Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), released a letter expressing his support for the For the People Act. Lisa Gilbert, executive vice president at Public Citizen, issued the following statement:
“Senator Joe Manchin’s letter shows that he remains true to his long-time support for government reforms to clean up corruption in Washington, improve elections, and shine a light on big money in politics. Bottom line, he is saying clearly that the For the People Act is critical, and we need to work together to get it done.”
