How Democratic Will This Year’s Presidential Transition Be?

Experts to Weigh in at Wednesday Forum

WHAT: A forum in which experts on presidential transitions will explore the importance of employing democratic governance principles in carrying out transition planning, and discuss a Public Citizen project examining the transition period both before and after the election. Transition planning is among the most important work in determining the trajectory of a presidential administration. Although this work is taxpayer-funded to varying degrees, few of the transparency and ethics rules that cover ordinary government work apply.

Presentation: “Monitoring the transition team efforts of the presidential nominees” by Taylor Lincoln, research director, Public Citizen’s Congress Watch division
