WHAT: As auto executives head to Washington, D.C., to meet with Trump about rolling back the clean car standards, the “Dirty Ford” that activists used to deliver a quarter million petition signatures to Ford’s headquarters in Dearborn, Mich., this week (coverage here: Reuters, NBC, Local 4 News, Auto News, Free Press, Michigan Radio) is hitting the streets again – this time in Washington D.C.

The “Dirty Ford” is a 2006 Focus that has been outfitted with a black cloud of pollution suspended on the car’s roof, a tailpipe fog machine and money spewing from the gas tank. From climate change to higher gas bills, these represent just some of the consequences of Ford’s effort to roll back clean car standards.

WHEN: 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. EDT Friday, May 11

WHERE: The vehicle will circle key locations in D.C., including National Airport, the controversial condo that U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Scott Pruitt rented, the U.S. Capitol, EPA headquarters and the White House. The goal is to send a message to policymakers and the executives, and to educate the public about the dangers of the rollback.
