Public Citizen’s 40th Anniversary Gala

On October 20, 2011, hundreds of Public Citizen supporters from across the country joined Peabody Award-winning journalist Bill Moyers—along with Public Citizen founders Ralph Nader, Dr. Sidney Wolfe, Alan Morrison and Joan Claybrook—to celebrate all we’ve accomplished in our first 40 years and look ahead to the work we have to do in our fifth decade and beyond.

Widely acclaimed as one of America’s most respected journalists, Bill Moyers has been honored with 36 Emmys, including the Lifetime Achievement Award. Moyers was an organizing founder and deputy director of the Peace Corps, Special Assistant and then Press Secretary to President Lyndon Johnson, and publisher of Newsday before beginning his broadcast career in 1971.
